Google’s Mobile App, with a Voice Search facility, was promoted in London with a huge outdoor advertising campaign featuring phonetic spellings of placenames, services and information queries. The billboards spell out Picadilly Circus, Leicester Square, Covent Garden, Oxford Circus, Marylebone, Taxi Numbers, Latest Scores, Restaurant Reviews, Cinema Times, FTSE 100, Exchange Rates, Ticket Reservations and Travel Updates. The campaign, with thirteen billboards, has won a Gold Outdoor Lion for BBH London at Cannes International Festival of Creativity.
